Michael's Retirement

Michael Doherty joined The Windmill as janitor in 1997, when it was originally built. Over the past 10 years, he has looked after the grounds and common areas, as well as delivering post, putting out bins and dealing with contractors.

In addition to his janitorial responsibilities, Michael has always kept a watchful eye out for problems, often resolving them before residents were even aware they had arisen.

Michael retired at the end of July 2007, and was honoured at the Windmill AGM with a ceremony to mark the occasion. The reception took place at the Quality Hotel on Cardiff Lane.

On behalf of the owners at The Windmill, Anne Mchale, chairperson of the board of directors, presented Michael with an antique watch fob & chain, along with a cheque to show our appreciation for all his years of service. After the presentation, owners spent several enjoyable hours chatting with Michael and recalling stories and events from the past 10 years.

Michael's contribution to The Windmill over the years has been huge, and we wish him every success for the future. Below are some more photos from the evening.
